“no prefix. no suffix. no quotes.”

A hugely talented artist, idiosyncratic Gluck lived by nobody's rules but their own, and when celebrity florist Constance Spry walked into their studio with a delivery, a scandalously queer, tempestuous relationship began. This relationship would challenge gender, class and social mores, and was to produce some of the most stunning paintings of the era.

Written by Brenda Callis, directed by Jo Newman, and produced by Bristol Old Vic associate company, Theatre West, Gluck’s Flowers toured across the South West of England in Spring 2024.

Starring Alexandra Ricou as Gluck and Katharine Jee as Constance Spry, Gluck’s Flowers performed in three galleries; Hestercombe Gardens, Thelma Hulbert Gallery and the Holburne Museum.
